Building on doing something not done before at Huntsville Botanical Garden, this creative wedding was both timeless and unique. A black and white theme, from the stationery suite to the dance floor, tablecloths and drapery, created an elegant look. The unique twist — tropical plants imported from South Africa and Peru — brought “Malibu feels” to Alabama.

The lush, tropical vibe paired with a classically elegant theme encouraged guests to look at the scene from a new perspective. Lucite chairs, white florals and airy drapery contributed to the breezy feel of the ceremony venue. The bride’s modern gown featured a Butterfly inspired illusion lace bodice and crepe train, pairing well with the debonair groom’s classic black tuxedo.

Pairing the wedding and reception in different venues at one location exuded a sense of intimacy and effortless appeal as everyone transitioned to the reception. After the ceremony, the guests made their way from the Conservatory to the reception in the Grand Hall where they were greeted with other modern accents such as a glorious wall of pre-filled champagne flutes, with a backdrop of lush greenery, which made a statement all on its own.

With a theme of being “out of the box” unique black and white signage guided guests along the way, including a scripted “love” marquee inviting them to partake in his and her signature cocktails at the open bar. Featured cocktails included blushing bride, with champagne, peach schnapps and grenadine, alongside the groom’s dark & stormy, with dark rum, ginger beer and lime juice.

The seated reception dinner featured modern black flatware, white china and towering elegant centerpieces of white roses, orchids and tropical greenery. After the delicious dinner, guests joined the bride and groom on the dance floor and mingled in the lounge area, which incorporated a sleek modern style of the Alex collection and Eli sofa.

The decadent cake had a modern clean textile look created with buttercream, a pop of color and dimension was added with edible chocolate leaves. Handmade chocolate party favors sent the guests home with sweet treats.
